Chamber of Commerce’s Week of Love

A Chance to Win Two Gift Certificates When You Come To Discover

What You “Love About Town” in Nyack.

The Chamber of Commerce of the Nyacks will celebrate Valentine’s Day for a week – Saturday, February 7th thru Saturday, February 14th with it’s first annual Love About Town – The Village of Nyack’s Valentine’s Celebration. This event was designed to help adults and children discover all there is to love about the Village of Nyack by walking around town while at the same time, receiving the chance to win two gift certificates and take advantage of special deals and promotions at Nyack shops and restaurants. Shop owners Annette van Loon of Chocolaterie and Marie Somos of Somos Creations are helping the Chamber of Commerce of the Nyacks plan this promotional event.

This is how it will work.

The  “Walking Word Puzzle” is one part of the Love About Town event.  The idea is that a child/children will go around to participating shops with their parent or some other adult and identify a letter that is part of the word or saying that solves the puzzle.  Each shop will fly a red heart balloon outside so adults and children will know where to go to retrieve a piece of the puzzle. The letter will be displayed in a gold frame either inside the shop or restaurant, or on their front door, Each letter will have a number next to it (for example, C3) indicating the order in which it will fall in the word or saying.  Once all the letters have been identified and written down by the adult, the puzzle will be solved. Found at any participating shop or restaurant, there will be a form to write this on with the person’s contact info on the back.  All participating shops and restaurants will have a box to drop the completed puzzle into.  It won’t matter the order the team collects the letters in; the idea is to get adults and children to walk around downtown Nyack to discover what they

Love About Town.

Following the event which ends at 7p.m.. February 14th, there will be a drawing for the “Walking Word Puzzle” winners by the Chamber of Commerce and, depending on the number of participating shops and restaurants, one or two teams will be selected as winners.  The winning team(s) will receive gift certificates, one for the adult and one for the child.  The adult’s gift certificate can be used at any of the participating venues which will be listed out for them.  The child’s gift certificate will be specific to Sign of the Times.

The second part of Love About Town are the “Sweet Deals in Nyack”. These deals will be shops and restaurants specific. Each participating Love About Town shop, restaurant, spa and salon will pick their own specials and discounts for the week – long event. Some stores will have their winter sales and or promotions this particular week and some of the restaurants will have door prizes and contests specific to their restaurants.
