In January, Victoria Hertz will take over as Executive Director of the Hopper House, replacing Carole Perry, who has held that role since 2006. Perry will become Executive Artistic Director sharing leadership of the Hopper House with Hertz.

Hertz, who holds a B.A.degree from the University of Redlands, served as President of the Hopper House Board of Trustees from April 2010 until March 2013 where she was one of art center’s most successful fundraisers. “Carole Perry and I share a passion for the Edward Hopper House Art Center and the community it thrives in,” says Hertz. “I am very pleased to continue collaborating with her and look forward to expanding our exhibitions and programming while welcoming more Edward Hopper enthusiasts to Nyack.”

Perry says she and Hertz have worked together at the Hopper House for the past seven years. “These roles are a natural progression for us,” says Perry. “Our new roles will allow each of us to build on our strengths and focus our energies on clearly defined goals that will further the mission of the Edward Hopper House.”

Since 1971 the childhood home of artist Edward Hopper (1882-1967) has operated as a non-profit multi-arts center with a mission to preserve Edward Hopper’s birthplace as well as to encourage and nurture community engagement with the arts.

“A number of outstanding exhibits in recent years have drawn an increasing audience to the Hopper House,” says Hopper House President Kara Sheridan. “We are fortunate to be able to draw on Vickie’s dedication and enthusiasm. We are also fortunate to continue to have Carole Perry’s expertise in publicizing our shows and managing our exhibits and programming,” she says.
