Bikers pause for a picture at the George Washington Bridge during the last leg of the annual six day Cycling the Hudson Valley Bike Tour from Hudson, NY to Brooklyn.

On a busy summer weekend as many as 5000 will come to Nyack from the The City in the south. But on Fri and Sat Aug 2-3, over 100 will sweep through the village from the north, hailing from 15 states and Canada.

“Cycling the Hudson Valley Bike Tour,” a six day 200 mile bicycling event which started in Hudson NY on July 29, will make an overnight stop at the Upper Plateau of Nyack Beach State Park on Sat Aug 2.

The cyclists will start their Saturday with a bus or bike tour of West Point and end their day at Nyack Beach State Park with a dinner and celebration to marking the last evening of the ride.

The 10th annual tour, produced by the non-profit Parks And Trails New York, includes about 35-40 miles of cycling each day. Participants camp in a different community where participants’ luggage is carried by volunteers.
