Did You Know? The Nyack Library Does!

Tomorrow is the first Tuesday in November — aka Voting Day in the United States. Need to know who’s running and where you can vote?  You’re one click away from The Rockland County Board of Elections where you will find your polling place and a sample ballot listing the candidates and the issues for Tuesday’s General Election.

Why is the annual General Election always held on the first Tuesday after a Monday in November. It has something to do with farmers, and how — once upon a time — Congress only met from December through March so as not to interfere with our founding father’s planting and harvesting seasons. Although we’re not quite the agrarian nation we once were, the First Tuesday tradition still holds. To find out more, visit History.com, Slate.com, or the Nyack Library.

Here’s the week at a glance at the Nyack Library.
