Relax, Rockland It’s Summer

The dog days of summer are upon us.  You may be relaxing by the pool or in front of the air conditioner. While you try and beat the summer heat, check out adult Tai Chi and Essential Oils relaxation classes at Rockland County’s libraries.

Tai Chi Workshop (Wed July 22, 7:30-8:45p): Help relax your mind and body from Tai Chi. Learn the basic patterns of movement in Tai Chi with instructor Linda Morissey. Choose from two sessions at area public libraries about how essential oils are essential to your well being.

  • Haverstraw, Tues July 28, 7-8:30p: Essential oils increase energy and help fight against bacteria.  Find out about how to use them in the kitchen, in the bathroom, on your kids, your animals and yourself.   • Nyack, Tues August 18, 7-8:30p: Board Certified Polarity Practitioner and Therapeutic Yoga Instructor Robin Monroe leads this Essential Oils workshop. Learn how to use these oils for allergies and sustaining a healthy immune system. Register required. Community/Meeting Room, Nyack Library, 59 S. Broadway.

Create Your Own Essential Oil Diffuser, Thursday August 20, 2015 at 7-8:30p: Now that you know about Essential Oils, attend a workshop to learn how to create your own wearable diffuser made from terracotta clay. Elizabeth Hobson will guide you in designing a small pendant to string to a necklace. After creating it, you will be able to walk around and breathe in the smells of aromatherapy.  There is a $5 fee for this event for materials.
