PUBLIC NOTICE: New NY Bridge Shared-Use Path Facilities And Bicycle/Pedestrian Connections

NOTICE OF EMINENT DOMAIN PROCEDURE LAW PUBLIC HEARING
NEW YORK STATE THRUWAY AUTHORITY AND NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
NEW NY BRIDGE SHARED-USE PATH FACILITIES AND BICYCLE/PEDESTRIAN CONNECTIONS

In conjunction with an Environmental Assessment that has been prepared to evaluate the proposed Shared-Use Path Facilities and Bicycle/Pedestrian Connections for the New NY Bridge in the Villages of South Nyack in Rockland County and Tarrytown in Westchester County (Proposed Action), the New York State Thruway Authority (NYSTA) and New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) are holding a hearing public pursuant to the Eminent Domain Procedure Law (EDPL) in relation to proposed right-of-way impacts to adjacent public properties.
Public Hearing:
The EDPL Public Hearing will be held concurrently with the public hearing on the Environmental Assessment. In accordance with the EDPL, public hearings will be conducted by NYSTA and NYSDOT as follows:

The purpose of this meeting is to receive comments on the proposed right-of-way impacts to public properties associated with the Proposed Action. Right-of-way acquisition would be limited to municipal property containing the existing Esposito Trail in the Village of South Nyack. Displays and information tables at the open forum will be staffed by NYSTA and NYSDOT representatives who will be available to answer questions and accept written comments for inclusion into the official public record. Both verbal and written statements may be entered into the official public record at the formal hearing.

Comments
All interested persons will be given the opportunity to provide comments on the proposed right-of-way impacts of the Proposed Action. The proceedings will be recorded. Persons may file written statements and other exhibits in place of or in addition to oral statements made at the public hearing. Written statements will become part of the record if they are:

  • submitted at the hearing; or
