NFBD, bike, bicycle, Memorial ParkFitzgerald & Halliday Inc (FHI), a firm with transportation, community design, environmental and stakeholder outreach skills, has been selected to design a Greater Nyack Bike/Walk Master Plan (GNBWMP) that covers the three river villages and the Nyack School District.
“We have a reputation as a walkable village. We are also a popular cycling destination,” said Nyack Mayor Jen Laird White. “Through a generous grant from the New NY Bridge Community Fund, we will be able to harness the expertise of Fitzgerald & Halliday to design a transportation network that makes it easier to get around the villages without a car.” Anyone who wants to join the mailing list to be “in the loop” about this project should email recreation@nyack-ny.gov with the subject line GNBWMP Committee.
Speaking of the mayor, the public is invited to a reception for Jen Laird White as she retires from eight years in public office serving as trustee (two years) and mayor (three terms). It’s Sat Dec 9 from 4-7p at the Rockland Fencers Club, 40 Lydecker Street.
