Stimulus Money Arrives

Monies from the federal economic stimulus package are beginning to trickle into the Lower Hudson Valley.

  • Local roadway resurfacing in Clarkstown will get $1 million in stimulus funds for projects to  be completed by the end of 2010. Source: Office of the Governor of New York
  • About 3.4 miles of 9W will be repaved in September from the Sparkill viaduct to the New York State Thruway split in South Nyack. Source: Journal News
  • Rockland Psychiatric Center scientists at the the Nathan Kline Institute will get $850,000 to  research mental illness and other brain orders. Source: Journal News
  • The Tarrytown MTA station’s facelift will get a $39 million boost from federal stimulus money. Tarrytown, the second busiest station on the Hudson Line with 2,825 inbound boardings a day from Westchester and Rockland counties, is the last of 16 Hudson Line stations to be completely torn down and rebuilt as part of the Hudson Line Stations Improvement Project.
