With the price of gas, who can afford to run a motor boat? I look around at all those motor boats still under wraps at the Marinas and think I am so glad I never got into motor boating. I took up sailing on the Hudson River in Tarrytown a few years ago and now encourage all to do the same. I find it the most relaxing way to enjoy the river and all its splendor.

I agree, sailing is the best way to enjoy the Hudson. Don’t forget we have our own Nyack Boat Club right in our Village, which is exclusively for sailing.

Consider kayaking or rowing too. I am able to kayak every month of the year (though late Jan to late Feb is harder because of ice).
I have a slip in the Nyack Marina for my catboat and from June to autumn I do something on the river for an hour before going to work. No wind? kayak. Good wind? Sail.
