  1. I would say/spell it “idling.”

  2. Marianne Olive says:

    idling!!!!

  3. Marianne Olive says:

    Cliff,
Excuse my spelling. Oxygen is what I meant. Idoling engines. Do you have a better way to say it?

  4. What the heck is “oxogyn” and “idoling?”

  5. Richard Kavesh says:

I wish everyone a very peaceful and restful Labor Day.

If you’d like to speak with me about any or all of the issues raised in Marianne’s email or about any other subject, please feel free to give me a call at 353-1935 and it’ll be my pleasure to listen to you.

    Richard

  6. Marianne Olive says:

    Richard,
I’m concerned that your full time teaching job in NYC will prevent you from giving Nyack the time, dedication and attention it so desperately needs.
What if there is an emergency during your work day? How will you address this?

    To the present board members;
How do you explain why you have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars of grant money for failure to use it timely? How do you plan on working together when it is so obvious from the many meetings I have attended this year, that you really don’t like each other. Why haven’t you allowed the many building projects to move forward? Why didn’t you notify the seniors when you moved the bus Depot outside their bedroom windows with idoling buses blowing their fumes into their homes where so many of these people have asthma and are on oxogyn? Aren’t you required by code and law to notify anyone within 500 feet of any moves, such as that bus depot? Why don’t you ever address the code violation for idoling buses? Did you ever research the possibility of biofuel buses? Why don’t you address code enforcements, scrutinize budgets, allow bed and breakfasts, control village departments spending,GET GRANTS and use them, stop wasting time on study after study. DO SOMETHING!!!Why is this village so neglected when all others around us are beautiful. Why don’t you encourage our community to support your village merchants by easing up on the late night parking meters and focus on creative ways of saving money, and making money for the village? Why don’t you all encourage a people friendly village? Why are none of you ever visable except to campaign for this election? Why don’t you update your web page so that people can access current events, current offices held, calender updates etc.Aren’t you embarrassed by the current condition of Nyack which has been your responsibility for all these years? What have you all done to make Nyack a better place to live, to work and to visit? I am running for Mayor because I am sick of what has happened to Nyack in your hands. Now it is time for tough love! New ideas, new leaders and

Marianne Olive! I know who I will be voting for on 9.15.09

  8. I was only there for a little bit more than half the debate. From what I could see, it was very well done and enlightening. I think it was very clear that each candidate would manage the village quite differently. If I were a resident of the village, it would be clear, in my mind, which candidate would get my vote.

  9. LittleGreyFort says:

I came into the forum not knowing much about the candidates at all. I left feeling that Mr. Kavesh has the business background and well as the temperament to be a wonderful village mayor. I believe the other candidates will serve our village well by continuing to participate in town meetings and/or on the board. LP

  10. roadking8 says:

kavesh won in a landslide. olive second lorinzini 3rd and i dont think hogan even wanted to be there

  11. Richard Kavesh says:

Consumers and voters always benefit from competition, so the winners of the debate were the people in attendance, who got to hear all four candidates discuss the issues respectfully and in an open forum.

I only wish we could have gone on for a little longer to answer some of the questions that were left on the table. If your question didn’t get asked or if you’d like a further/deeper explanation of a question that was asked, call me at 353-1935 or email me at richard77@optonline.net
