Richard Kavesh, Candidate for Mayor of Nyack
Dear Nyack Neighbors,
Thank you for hiring me to work for you as your Trustee for these past nine years. If elected as your Mayor, here are a few of the most important issues I’ll work on with you and for you:
- Open, transparent, and responsive government – let’s improve our website, put our meetings on television, stream them over the internet, and take them around the village.
- Fiscal responsibility – I promise to spend your money as if it were my own.
- Let’s develop a long-term infrastructure improvement plan and stick with it.
- Let’s run the village professionally, efficiently, and courteously.
- Let’s carefully examine the social, environmental, and financial impacts of the Riverspace “superblock” proposal.
- Let’s get state approval for residential parking permits.
- Let’s continue to support village programs for our youth and senior citizens.
- Let’s have eco-friendly, “green” building codes.
- In short, let’s renew Nyack together and make the village we all love an even more wonderful place to live, work, visit, raise a family, and run a business.
The Mayor of Nyack needs to be equal parts listener, team builder, manager, and problem-solver. I believe that I’ve demonstrated these diverse skills during my 20+ years as a business leader and as your Trustee. With your help, I’ll put these skills to work where they’ll do the most good for the most people – as your Mayor. Respectfully, I ask you to “vote Row A [Democratic] all the way” on November 3rd.
