“Sour Kraut,” an authentic German restaurant, is coming soon to Nyack. Located at 118 Main Street, we’ll offer authentic German fare including:
Jaegerschnitzel, Pepperschnitzel, Zigeunerschnitzel, Weinerschnitzel, Rahmschnitzel, Weinerwurst, Bratwurst, Currywurst, Chicken-brat, Leiberkaes, Doener Kabob, German burger, German hot dog, German meatball, Spaetzle, Potato pancakes, German potato salad, German home fries, Belgium fries, Red Cabbage, Sour Kraut, warm pretzel, soups and salads. Sour Braten will be on special board along with many seasonal German dishes. The food will be freshly made and top quality with all delicious homemade sauces.
Seasonally organic herbs and vegetables will come directly from my garden along with honey from my honey bees. We will certainly accommodate vegetarians and vegans with many items that will suit their diet.
We will feature only German beers and wines so if you have a favorite, do drop in to visit me at Olive’s or Hairs Marianne and let me know any suggestions you have.
We will have three rotating German desserts, all homemade.
The prices will suit everyone’s budget and the hours of operation will be extended to accommodate all. Eat in or take out with quick service and possibly delivery service.
So keep your eyes peeled for “Sour Kraut,” the newest addition to Nyack’s culinary delights.

Noticed yesterday there were lights on. Also, there used to be paper in the windows, right? Is it still coming “soon” or maybe even sooner than that?
Hope you open soon because i realy like german beer and gils too.
I was wondering Nyack last month and passed by a sign for your restaurant. My friends and I all went bananas. We are very proud German girls and love finding new places to indulge in our german delights. Every other store front is Italian or Chinese food– so we were stoked to see a new German place opening up!!!!
Is there a set open date? We have lots of inquiring minds…
So excited by this –extra glad you are having authentic german brews (with the proper glasses to match i hope.)
Back in 1975 I lived in Austria for six months and in Vienna for three of those and would love it if you could include my favorite Austrian soup, Leberknoedelsuppe (liver dumpling soup), and my favorite Austrian beer, Goesser. Music by Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, and the Strauss family would add another echt German/Austrian touch.
Love the idea of a German restaurant in Nyack, but the name is terrible. There must be something less offensive you could name the place, no?
Groß! Let’ s essen!
