Spring is almost here and the Nyack Community Garden will soon be opening for the season.
Here’s how the News 12 blog describes the garden:
The Nyack Community Garden is a cooperative garden consisting of nearly 50 plots that sits just a few short blocks from downtown Nyack. It is located on land owned by the Robert Martin Corporation…who donates the use of the land specifically for the garden.
The entire garden is enclosed by a fence, contains a well-supplied tool shed, and has an ample water supply. Each plot is about 150 square feet…big enough to keep a family of four eating fresh veggies for the entire summer, and still have enough produce to donate to worthy causes aimed towards fighting hunger. Each plot-keeper pays a very modest fee, signs up for committee work, and maintains their own little piece of the earth.
For all those interested in obtaining information and applications, contact the community garden at PO Box 864 Nyack NY 10960. Or e-mail at nyackcommunitygarden@gmail.com
