  • Swingtime Big Band: Home for the Holidays, presented by ArtsRock. This 20-piece Swing Era jazz ensemble entertains with holiday big band favorites, including swingin’ Chanukah melodies to honor the Festival of Lights! 8p at Temple Beth Torah 330 N Highland Ave.
  • The Historical Society of Rockland presents its annual holiday exhibits, The Joy of Toys and Pretty Paper. Through Jan 11, on Sat and Sun, noon-4p, Historical Society of Rockland, 20 Zukor Rd, New City.
  • The 12th Annual Lafayette Theater Christmas Spectacular features the holiday classic ‘It’s A Wonderful Life,’ live performances by the Cherry Lane Elementary School Bell Choir and the Gracepoint Gospel Fellowship Choir, and an appearance by the man of the hour, Santa Claus. 10:45a, Lafayette Theatre, 97 Lafayette Ave, Suffern.
  • Enjoy a lively, percussive holiday concert by the Ekklipse Steelband of JAMCCAR (Jamaican Civic and Cultural Association of Rockland). $30(includes dinner); $25 students and seniors. 6p Nyack Center, 58 Depew Ave.
  • The Rockland County Choral Society presents French Delicacies, conducted by Philip Hangman. Sat performance at 8p; Sun at 3p. Christ Episcopal Church, 65 Washington Ave, Suffern.
  • Toys of the Past: Childhood Memories Before 1955 – The exhibit includes dolls, doll houses, stuffed animals, children’s books, games and toy soldiers. On Saturdays through February. From 1-4p at the Historical Society of the Nyacks Museum, 50 Piermont Ave, behind Nyack Library and across from Memorial Park.

  • Take part in Nyack‘s First Indoor Street Fair where local artisans sell one-of-a-kind gifts, jewelry, art, clothing, home decor, chocolate and sweets. The Nyack HS Chamber Orchestra performs from 12-2p; Nelson Silva performs new arrangements of classics and holiday tunes from 2-4p. Author Bill Batson signs Nyack Sketch Log books from 10a-1:30p. The event is from 10a-4p at Nyack Center, 58 Depew Ave.
  • FOR’s annual Winter Solstice Celebration honors Kim Cross and the late Herb Kurz. Celebrate the longest night and the returning of the light with a musical feast including Regret the Hour, Lisa Sokolov, Bill Vanaver, Naaz Hosseini & Peter Blum, Steve & Emilia White and Answer the Muse. 1-6p at Fellowship of Reconciliation, 521 North Broadway in Nyack.
  • The Corner Frame Shop’s Artist of the Month, watercolorist Mary Ann Heinzen gives a watercolor demonstration. 2-5p at The Corner Frame Shop, 40 S. Franklin St.
  • Artists reception and book signing for an exhibition of original drawings by Bill Batson, author and illustrator of Nyack Sketch Log. On display through Dec 31. 2-4p Nyack Library, 59 S Broadway.
  • Elmwood Playhouse’s final performance of the charming musical, Sundays in the Park with George. 8p at Elmwood Playhouse, 10 Park St.
