Nyack Window Project: Whirligig

by Ashley Tedino
The Nyack Window Project, a streetscape exhibition that pairs visual artists with local landlords to create original installations in downtown storefronts,  features 16 locations featuring the work of 15 artists in  Nyack.
Conceived by award-winning set designer and village resident Joanne Howard, the Nyack Window project is in its second year. This week Nyack News And Views will feature the work of several of this year’s artists.

“Whirligig” by Robyn Donohue-Martignoni

Martignoni’s window piece was inspired by the holiday season which brings vibrant color and festive texture into the display. As you view the window, you will see wool pom poms strung with an assortment of glass beads and sequins pinned onto the hot pink walls. Martignoni also refers to her window piece as “Pom Pom String Land.”
