Star Fest Benefits One to One Learning

The hills above Marydell Faith and Life Center will come alive with the sound of beautiful music on Sunday, September 17 at Star Fest VIII, a concert to benefit One to One Learning.
Marydell Garden of FaithOne to One Learning is a non-profit community outreach program sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill. The program is dedicated to teaching English as well as providing other services to immigrants. Volunteer teachers work with students in small groups. Classes include beginner, intermediate and advanced English, preparation for high school equivalency and citizenship classes. There are also computer classes and pre-literacy classes.
Star Fest VIII will feature host and emcee John Patrick “JP” Schutz, award-winning cabaret and concert performer, and his friends. Past performers have included Jan Lynch and Tommy Dunn, Sue Matsuki, Robert Mattern, Brian Walters, Rita Harvey and Patty Koontz.
Festivities continue after the concert with a “Mini Taste of Rockland,” featuring food and desserts from some of Rockland’s finest restaurants.
Come to Star Fest VIII on Sun Sept 17 at 3:30p at the Marydell Faith and Life Center, located at 640 North Midland Avenue in Upper Nyack. Reservations for Star Fest VIII are $30 in advance and $35 at the door.
