Claudette Jimerson — candidate for Nyack Schools Board of Education

Claudette Jimerson is a dedicated, retired educator from the Nyack School District. She has devoted 34 years to teaching her students the true love for orchestral music and providing her students with the foundation they need to realize and reach their full potential. She built the orchestral program in the district for grades 4 through 12 and is responsible for the Jimerson Music Festival. She is a member of the district Strategic Planning Committee and the PTA. She has also lived in the district for 28 years, and all three of her children are alumni of Nyack High School.

She has taught in Nyack High School and Middle School as well as all three of the elementary schools. Her experience in each of the buildings has given her access to the unique challenges that each of the buildings have faced.

Claudette believes that quality programs and talented teachers are the true foundation that is essential to help each and every child be successful and reach their full potential.

Her goal is to see to it that everyone; students, teachers, administrators and the community work together to obtain the highest level of success possible. She believes that this investment in the youth of today, will produce better students, a better district and overall, a better tomorrow.
