One Day Without Shoes in Nyack

Nyack joins communities across the country and around the world during One Day Without Shoes to bring attention to the impact that a simple pair of shoes can have on a child’s life.

In cooperation with TOMS Shoes, ML Gifts and Accessories is sponsoring Nyack’s first annual One Day Without Shoes campaign, asking everyone in the village to go barefoot for part of the day on April 8. ML Gifts will lead a walk from its location at 75 So. Broadway to Nyack’s Village Hall at 9 No. Broadway at 4p.

Tom Chapin & Friends Birthday Concert

Tom ChapinGrammy-award winning Tom Chapin celebrates his birthday with a special family concert on Sat March 13th at 1pm at Nyack BOCES.

Described as “totally captivating” by Billboard Magazine, Tom Chapin is a singer, guitar player, TV personality, concert performer, actor, composer, and recording artist. Tom’s concerts span generations and stereotypes, and his recordings have earned him awards from Parent’s Choice, New York Music Awards, and Emmy and Peabody Awards for his work with ABC’s Make a Wish. Tom is also renowned for carrying on the work of his brother, the late Harry Chapin, in combating world hunger.

Not Cold Enough Fer Ya? Take The Plunge.

If you haven’t had enough of the ice and snow this winter, then maybe you should jump in the river. That’s exactly what 70 Penguin Plunge participants will do on Sunday 2/28 at 12n at Memorial Park in Nyack.

The Penguin Plunge is an annual fundraiser for children with serious illnesses.  This year’s recipients are two pediatric cancer patients, 11-year old Mickey Reeves from Tappan and Sean DePatto, a 7-year old from Stony Point. Continue reading →

A Night to Remember

On Sunday night February 21 Olive’s celebrated a moving away party for the brilliantly talented drummer, Jon Karel, and his girlfriend Jenna, who are “shuffling off to Buffalo.”

We had a full house of talented musicians who jammed till the wee hours of the morning(4am).WOW! What fun, what excitement, what talent filled Olive’s stage with a continuous flow of the most talented entertainment outside of Manhattan all gathered in one place…UNREHEARSED! I felt like I was back at “Woodstock” in the summer of 69.
