Carlucci is serving his third term as Clerk of Clarkstown. As an early adopter of information technologies, he has brought the town into the 21st Century by digitizing hundreds of thousands of documents and using advanced medias to make municipal government more efficient. A Visit To The Nyack Community Garden

August 8, 2010

Over The River and Through Our Woods

August 6, 2010

by John Shields

A new replacement Tappan Zee Bridge moves forward. Assuming such a replacement is necessary, and this is still a question, how will it affect the Rockland corridor?

The Thruway has a poor history of good will in this area. When the last current bridge was built much of South Nyack was wiped out by a huge and unnecessary interchange. This after Gov. Harriman promised no bridge through the Nyacks. A location that was totally inappropriate. It was never revealed who benefited form this location.

As Others See Us: Hook Mountain Growers

August 1, 2010

Nyack’s Hook Mountain Growers and Dr. Pamela Yee were featured on WNYC last week in a story about the medicinal aspects of bitter melon, a tropical fruit which is every bit as bitter as its name implies. Yee is co-owner of Hook Mountain Growers, a farm where “all plants are biodynamically, organically, and sustainably grown.”
