Now in its 74th year, the Rockland County Choral Society is the second oldest continuing arts association in Rockland County. Originally formed in 1937 as part of a Rockland County adult education program, the organization has evolved into one of the county’s premiere musical groups, offering a full spectrum of choral music. RCCS concerts have featured choral masterpieces, selections from opera, Americana, and even commissioned works. Numerous professional musicians and vocalists have performed with the RCCS, many of whom have been featured performers on some of the world’s grandest stages.

RCCS performs under the baton of Philip Hagemann, who earned degrees in music from Northwestern University and Columbia University. As resident conductor of the RCCS, Hagemann has conducted many of the masterpieces of the choral repertoire, including works by Handel, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Mendelssohn.
