Nyack, May 18 -- If you add up all of the weekend numbers, Nyack should set another 35,000 or so seats at the table this weekend with a Saturday afternoon parade, a Sunday world class bike event and the second Street Fair of 2013.

If you want to take in Nyack by the numbers, consider these digits: 7000, 70, 105, 8000 and 25000. Those are cyclists, countries, miles, feet and estimated Sunday Street-farians.

The Palisades Interstate Park Commission (PIPC) began a series of social relief programs at more than 100 camp facilities in Harriman State Park. Sponsored by social & philanthropic organizations, thousands of NY and NJ children came every summer to experience the magic of nature.

by Arthur H. Gunther III

On a recent day in Nyack, in this later 1800s village not long ago of antique charm and just now of mini-cosmopolitan ambiance with restaurants and some small shops but back in memory of a working-class, traditional American commercial/industrial community, I found solace in a $1 container of coffee to go, any size. And call it just that, coffee, not grande or pocachino or whatever moniker is offered at $2.50.

by Janie Rosman

Math and I get along well on an as-needed basis – balancing my checkbook, paying monthly bills within a limited budget and income, etc. I shop with a dollar amount in mind and try to find something within that amount. There are times, though, when I do use my credit card – for example, car repairs, or a new digital camera – and pay the balance during the ensuing months.

Which brings me to New York State and how it plans to pay for the new Tappan Zee Bridge.
