It’s been a tough summer for Hudson River enthusiasts, with July and August sewage spills and a Riverkeeper/Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory report last week that says the river was untouchable 25 percent of the time between 2006 and 2010. But if you think it’s tough living near the river, just be glad you don’t live in it.
Gedney Street Project
The Gedney Street Project will bring a new river front park to the Village of Nyack along with new townhouses and condominiums. The new public park will include accessible walkways, seating with river views, an arts space and an environmental education center.
Learn more about the future of the Nyack waterfront at the Gedney Street Project Visitor Center at 70 Main St & Broadway in Nyack, Wed-Sun from 2p-9p.
Upcoming Local Events
People have been riding bikes around Nyack since American realist painter and Nyack native Edward Hopper was a boy. We continue that tradition every Sat morning leaving Memorial Park (corner of Depew & Piermont) at 830a.
All riders welcome on this "no drop" ride. Helmet, water bottle and flat fixin's required!
