After The Snow, Go Out to The Show

If the Friday-Saturday snowstorm left you tired of staying indoors, you can look forward to a special Sunday night Carnegie Room concert. The Nyack High School Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Christine Gero, will perform the music of Sibelius, Dvorak, Vivaldi, Elgar and Michael Adelson at 7:30p at the Nyack Library. For tickets and more information, visit CarnegieRoom.org.

The Sun Feb 10 concert will be one of the last public performances by the talented Nyack High School Chamber Orchestra before they begin their European tour this Spring.

Tron! and DVD: Bridging the Gap to a New Generation of Rap

Nyack’s Tron! and DVD are far from your traditional hip-hop duo. Most artists come from big cities but they grew up in a small village. The brothers don’t rap about peddling drugs or acts of violence. However, the process by which Norvin (Tron!) and Darian (DVD) Van Dunk have created a hip-hop network in Nyack is very similar to some of the earliest and most famous rappers.

All That Jazz. All Week Long.

It’s a week of rhythm and blues as Nyack hosts Jazz Week through Saturday 7/31.

Seven nights of great music featuring Duane Eubanks, Ralph Lalama, Erik Lawrence, Scott Reeves & the Manhattan Bones, the RCJBS Allstars, and many others, including a rare duo appearance by the great jazz bassist John Patitucci with pianist Mike Holober, and grand finale featuring Latin-jazz flute sensation Dave Valentin. Venues are indoors & outside with many free to the public.
