Postcard From New York: The Tappan Zee Bridge at Sunset
by Alison Perry
Nyack, Nov 30 — Last Sunday afternoon the light started to change from dreary and overcast to patches of intense luminosity bursting though the cloud cover, more so as the day wore on. As I approached the hill top ridge in my car I remembered the Tappan Zee Bridge turns golden this time of day so I decided to look for some memorable images there and in light of current events surrounding it’s age and impending replacement. I briefly considered the bridge in its past, present and future tense’€ relative to the economic and cultural impact it has had on so many lives. It’s amazing to consider what a span of steel can do.
